| Davidson student’s poem wins award May 15, 2008 Faye VanHecke, an eighth grade student at Davidson IB Middle School (DIB), will be recognized at the national level of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2008. Faye’s poem, titled “Vietnam Boots,” placed in the top 1 percent of all submissions in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Faye will be attending the national Scholastic Awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 4, 5, and 6, where she will receive the American Voices Award. |
